Frequency Converter

Borri range of Static Frequency Converters are designed and built for the harshest conditions and to provide high reliable power supply converting 50 Hz supply to 60 Hz equipment and to different voltages.

Using state-of-the-art IGBT technology with DSP (Digital Signal Processors) controls we convert the input AC power through a IGBT PFC sine-wave rectifier to DC and then to an AC sine-wave IGBT inverter to produce a full sine-wave output at the new frequency and voltage.

The onboard electrical system of smaller aircraft and helicopters is a 28 VDC voltage.

The aircraft / helicopter can start their engine using the onboard battery, but it may be an advantage to use an external Ground Power Unit to do the job. Find your line powered or battery options below.

ITW GSE supplies green 28 VDC ground power units based on solid-state or battery technology. Also, a diesel driven 28 V unit is available.

VRLA Battery

Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) batteries are maintenance-free, sealed rechargeable batteries that recombine oxygen and hydrogen into water, eliminating the need for water refilling. They utilize Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) or Gel technology to prevent electrolyte leakage, allowing for mounting in any orientation. Ideal for UPS, telecommunications, and mobility, they typically last 3–10 years depending on charging and temperature.

Li – ion Battery

A lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery is a rechargeable power source using lithium ions to store and release energy, known for high energy density, making it dominant in portable electronics (phones, laptops) and electric vehicles due to its small size, light weight, and efficiency. They work via lithium ions moving between anode and cathode through an electrolyte during charge/discharge.

Ni Cd Battery

Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries are durable, rechargeable energy storage devices utilizing nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium, commonly used in industrial, medical, and high-drain applications. They provide a stable 1.2V output, high cycle life 1,000 to 5,000+ cycles, and perform well in extreme temperatures -50°C to 70°C. require proper recycling due to toxic cadmium.
